But wasn’t good enough

to get in

unite

in the fact

Speaking purely

This time tragically

A rifle club reject

was an inch away

from changing history

But failed again

One of those guys who

can never get the angle

just right

Always leaving a

little drop

on the left side

of the toilet seat

Or a woman

almost there yet

but not quite

 

You miss all of the shots

you don’t take

And sometimes

all the ones you do

At first.

The graze of that bullet

will echo in our collective ear
